Job Description

Help Desk Representatives usually have very good communication skills and a basic to mid-level understanding of technology. They are responsible for answering phone calls and responding to emails when someone has a technical issue. They are expected to resolve many of the issues and are expected to know where to turn for any issue they cannot resolve.

As the first contact for co-workers and customers who have technology and possibly other problems, a help desk representative can learn a great deal about how a company and its IT department operate. This is a great way to get into IT.

Getting a Job

Students who complete this training program are job ready, qualified, and in-demand. Typically these jobs require industry certifications or a Bachelor’s degree. Students study for and obtain the necessary certifications.

Getting a Promotion

Help desk representatives understand how a company operates and they get exposed to different areas of IT, so they have great potential for promotions. Also, students who successfully complete training at Eddie Teaches IT will have the Security+ certification. There is a huge demand for Security+ certified professionals with experience. Students with Security+ tend to get promotions or higher paying jobs very quickly, usually within 6 months to a year after landing their first IT job.
