CASP+/SecurityX and CISSP Summary

CASP+ is the most advanced CompTIA certification. It is being rebranded and will be known as 'SecurityX'. A CASP+ or SecurityX certification says that you understand how to propose and implement secure solutions across a wide variety of IT security disciplines. CASP+ targets advanced cybersecurity professionals who want to remain hands-on (not necessarily management).

CISSP is also an advanced security certification and is considered, by many, the most sought after IT or Cybersecurity certification that exists. CISSP professionals often make $150,000+ per year. CISSP targets those who are or want to become high-level cybersecurity managers

Although CASP+ claims to target a different group, the exam topics are very similar and studying for one exam will help you pass the other.

Prerequesites

Students must have A+ or similar knowledge/experience in IT security.

Students may want to take Website & Application Creation 1: Design and Front End and/or Website & Application Creation 2: Back End to become more comfortable with websites, website hosting, cloud, server-side programming, and application security, which may all appear on these exams
